We all know starting from scratch can be hard, especially when you have nothing in your pockets and few resources to your name. Building a future in the unknown can be scary and daunting.

I’ve read in a bunch of books about people starting from nothing and taking road trips to move away.

We’ve all had times when we lose our job, feel disconnected from where we are, or just want to meet new people. The first step is to have a goal; the second is to have money saved up. The third is to settle everything you have in the state you’re currently in so you have nothing holding you back.

I know you’re probably second-guessing yourself and letting doubt creep into your mind. I have a family depending on me; what if they struggle when I’m gone, or you have that one extremely special person in your life that you simply just can’t bring yourself to let go of? But as the old and famous saying goes, if you truly love someone, you must set them free; if they eventually return to you, they’re yours forever. If they don’t ever come back, then it simply wasn’t meant to be.

We spend so much valuable time overthinking every little detail of our lives: should I finally move on to a new chapter, or should I drive or fly? Or you might even have children, and you might constantly stress over which local school is genuinely the best option for their education. Alternatively, when we suddenly lose our job, we instantly lose our vital income and financial stability. There are so many difficult things to weigh and decide upon when you are preparing for a major relocation. Luckily, no matter how overwhelming it feels right now, you’re never truly alone in this journey.

Questions to ask when deciding on destinations
